Susan Graves-Cox

Spinner, Crafter, Community Alchemist
Susan, born in California, and raised in Boise, discovered her love for flow arts years ago after witnessing a devil stick performance at a Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) event. Inspired by the artistry, she picked up her own set of devil sticks and has been dabbling in ever since.
Community-building is at the heart of who Susan is. Through her active involvement in the SCA and its dedication to medieval arts and culture, she organized events for up to 200 participants—managing food, activities, and logistics while fostering a sense of connection and shared experience.
Although flow arts had always been a personal passion, Susan didn’t find a local community to share it with until she discovered the Spin Jams at JUMP. Since the inception, she has been a regular attendee, bringing her bright energy and signature laugh to every session. Without hesitation, she began helping newcomers learn the basics of poi and flow wand, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
When Krissy invited Susan to co-teach a hoop class, she eagerly volunteered her time and talents. Today, Susan co-leads the Spin Jams alongside Krissy, dedicating her skills, enthusiasm, and heart to growing the flow arts community in the Treasure Valley.
Outside of flow arts, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, diving into all kinds of crafting, and baking.
